The Agnes Irwin School sits just to the south of Lower Merion in the Rosemont section of Radnor Township. This all-girls college-preparatory school serves students from pre-K to 12th grade.

The Baldwin School and The Shipley School are both well-established private college-preparatory schools for students pre-K through 12th grade. While Baldwin is a girls-only school, Shipley is co-ed. The two schools are adjacent to one another where Montgomery Avenue intersects with Morris Avenue. 

The Holy Child at Rosemont School on Montgomery Avenue in Rosemont is an independent Catholic school for children 2 years and 7 months through 8th grade. 

The Phebe Anna Thorne School at Bryn Mawr College is a play-based educational environment for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. 

The West Hill School in Rosemont is a small school serving children 2 years and 7 months of age through pre-K.

These communities have a number of independent and chain retail stores along Lancaster Avenue. Local favorites include Lucky Duck Toys, The Camera Shop for cameras, accessories, and printing services, Bryn Mawr Running Company for running shoes and gear, Louella and Skirt for upscale women’s clothing and styling, Mom’s Organic Market for organic, sustainable groceries, and other products, and Arrowroot for vegan and gluten-free foods, vitamins, and supplements. 

This area also has more than a handful of restaurants and bakeries along Lancaster Avenue including Enoteca Tredici for Meditteranean, Lovebird for family-style meals and sandwiches, Xolo Tacos for Mexican, and The Bakery House for made-from-scratch cakes, cookies, and pies.

The Clover Market, an outdoor shopping event featuring handmade gifts and home goods, is held on weekends in the spring and fall at the corner of Lancaster Avenue and N. Bryn Mawr Avenue.

Bryn Mawr Farmer’s Market is open for a few hours each Saturday and features produce and products from local farmers and small independent businesses.

Ashbridge Memorial Park on Montgomery Avenue in Rosemont has a large playground, green space, tennis courts, and a walking path.

Ludington Library, at the corner of Lancaster Avenue and S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, is Lower Merion Township’s largest library with three and half floors and 120,000 books. Like the other Lower Merion libraries, in addition to having a large number of items in circulation, the Ludington Library has a variety of resources and events for children, teenagers, and adults.
